Inter Ponce Admissions
These are students coming from high school graduates or candidates for graduation from a high school accredited by the Department of Education or its equivalency. Those who have passed the Department of Education Extension Division Test (GEDT) will also be accepted. They must not have studied at the university level.
Only applicants who have been denied in the regular admissions process will be evaluated. This selection is done on a competitive basis and takes into consideration the interests of the institution.

This evidence will be submitted to the Admissions Office for evaluation. Students who at the time of readmission have completed 80% of the program of studies may request an evaluation in accordance with the requirements of the program for which they were initially admitted. This provision shall not apply to those students whose program of studies requires any particular certification or license to practice the profession. For any other academic or administrative process, the student shall be governed by the stipulations of the General Catalog in effect at the time of readmission.

UAC’s student body represents more than 50 countries. The American University in Cairo was founded in 1919 by the American Mission to Egypt, a Protestant mission that moved from the North American country to North Africa promoted by the United Presbyterian Church of North America in order to establish an English-language institution in Egypt. The AAU was initially intended to be both a preparatory school and a university at the same time. The preparatory school opened its doors to 142 students on October 5, 1920 in the Khairy Pasha Palace, which was built in the 1860s.
