The labor market insertion of people with disabilities is a topic of recent interest in Latin America, although different international instruments have established it as an inherent right of this population. However, this group has considerable obstacles to insertion in the field of employment (Gandarillas et al., 2014GANDARILLAS, B. et al. Therefore, the present review aims to describe the state of labor market insertion of people with disabilities in Latin America. The article investigates three determining aspects. First, it reviews the right to employment as expressed in the regulations of different Latin American countries. Then, it describes the current panorama of labor market insertion. Finally, it establishes the challenges that emerge from the analysis carried out.

El Ministerio de Educación ha suprimido cerca de la mitad de las especialidades de estudios técnicos en la enseñanza secundaria del país, alegando, entre otras cosas, un estudio comparativo de los sistemas europeos de enseñanza técnica.
Algunos de los profesores que se suprimen fueron contratados a través de las pruebas escritas del Consejo Supremo de Selección de Personal y tienen las mejores calificaciones y experiencia docente y han hecho una contribución reconocida a la educación.
Lo absurdo de la decisión de aplicar las exigencias de la Troika se comprende mejor si se considera el caso de una profesora de gráficos: junto con otros profesores, recibió un premio a la Excelencia en la Innovación del Ministerio de Educación griego por crear un libro pop-up tridimensional con una aplicación innovadora de los ordenadores que estaba adaptado para su uso por personas con necesidades especiales. También ha participado en varios programas de cooperación europeos, como los programas «Leonardo» y «Comenius», y en intercambios, especialmente con escuelas de Alemania.
