Our physician will be able to meet the needs in health promotion for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease. To do so, he/she will take into account the biological, psychosocial and environmental aspects involved in the individual and community health-disease process. It will have a solid scientific training in the entire human life cycle, with a curriculum adapted to the epidemiological transition, with good resolution capacity at the entry point to the system. He/she will have skills in health risk management, disease management, rational and pertinent use of technologies, safety in patient care, fundamentals of health sciences research, health economics, communications, ethics and professionalism, critical reading of medical literature and high value medicine. He/she will have special skills in communication with patients and their families to facilitate self-care and with professionals of related areas to make an efficient teamwork. In his actions, he will be a physician who offers humane treatment and ethical, responsible, honest, supportive and respectful behavior.
