They say that photographs talked about are better than seen. With “The Best Photographer in the World”, the author takes us into the labyrinths of a photographer’s mind in a journey that reviews themes such as reality, time, aesthetics and ethics. With a surprisingly fresh style, this work invites the reader to a journey through the private studio of a brilliant and eccentric artist who reveals his phobias, philias, eccentricities, manias, reasons and unreasons. Mirada y testimonio is complemented by fragments of interviews with the author and a representative group of photographers, journalists, writers and intellectuals, who contribute their opinions and points of view on the topics covered in the different thematic areas of Valtierra’s work.
(When you listened to the monologue presenting his new book, from Valtierra’s own lips, you deduced that the compilation is a diary of his life and a log of the 20th century in Mexico and part of the world. And that is no small thing. Note from Notimex on the site “Aristegui noticias”).
