On the occasion, Rector Claudio Elórtegui greeted the attendees and said that “our alumni are one of the great assets of the University, for the contribution they make to the country and the testimony they give from the training received, characterized by excellence in the different disciplines, as well as the values of the University that they reflect in their work”.

“I have the best memories of the University. It is part of the formative and developmental process not only professionally, but also human. One of its main projects has been the use of enzymes of marine and Antarctic origin for the development of detergents that work at low temperatures. The aim of this initiative is to promote energy savings, since “in Chile, about one million washes are done every day at temperatures of approximately 60°C. If they were done at 20°C, the detergents would be more efficient. If they were done at 20°C, the energy savings would be significant. In addition, in many parts of the world washing is done at low temperatures, so our development makes it possible to do it more efficiently.”[5][6
